Exciting updates regarding the Barking Riverside Estate

This summer, the Barking Riverside Estate is set to undergo several exciting changes that will  have a positive impact.

Introducing your new estate managing agent, Preim

From 1st August 2024, Preim (pronounced ‘prime’) will assume responsibility as the new estate managing agent for Barking Riverside. Selected after a competitive tender process involving resident participation, Preim has been awarded a contract of up to five years. They’ll be responsible for managing the public realm areas at Barking Riverside, including walkways, roads, green verges and play areas. Barking Riverside residents will have received welcome letters from Preim in early August, but if you have any additional queries then please direct these to info@barkingriverside.london.

Community Interest Company (CIC)

Over the past year, the Barking Riverside Community Interest Company (CIC) has been working to establish itself as the legacy vehicle for the Barking Riverside Estate. The five new resident directors, all of which are now officially incorporated as part of the CIC’s governance, structure have started to get more involved in the Barking Riverside Estate. This has included full involvement in setting service charge budgets, as well as holding regular quarterly board meetings to discuss matters such as health and safety, finance, and updates from Barking Riverside Limited (BRL). The CIC directors are now undergoing comprehensive training and vision setting, providing a strong foundation to enhance the CIC’s brand and presence within the next 12-18 months.

Rivergate Centre management by the Church at Barking Riverside

The Church at Barking Riverside has recently assumed bookings and activation responsibility for the community areas at the Rivergate Centre. This new role includes liaising with regular users of the space. The Church will have a direct influence on future enhancements to the Rivergate Centre, working alongside BRL to revitalise the facility and make it a lively community hub.

The Wilds and artFix partnership

Lastly, BRL has partnered with artFix to provide new management for The Wilds at Barking Riverside.  Known for their community centres in Kidbrooke, Greenwich and Woolwich, artfFix will focus on fostering creativity within the space. They’ll also be supporting the GROUNDED coffee shop, and will manage bookings for the hireable spaces throughout the building. This partnership aims to make The Wilds a central hub for creativity and community activities at Barking Riverside.

These exciting changes are all part of BRL’s commitment to creating a dynamic, and well-managed Estate. For any questions, please feel free to email info@barkingriverside.london.
